| Project Description |
| Construction of a five storey, 98,000 sq.ft. new Regional Cancer Centre, which was integrated into the existing Grand River Hospital. The building has been designed to introduce natural light into as many of the patient areas as possible. Due to the proximity of other hospital buildings, the project involved five phases to maintain continuous operation of existing services throughout the construction. This outpatient facility includes six high-energy radiation treatment rooms, a 26-station chemotherapy suite and all related examination and support facilities. |

| Radiation Centre |
| The heart of the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre is its radiation area, which is located at ground level, not bunkered in the basement as in many cancer centres. It has a slightly celestial feel, created by sunshine beaming through skylights over each of the six radiation suites. The rooms containing the linear accelerators are separated by concrete walls more than a metre thick. |

| Situated on the main floor (Level 3) are the reception area and waiting room, an office for volunteers, rooms for reviewing patients' charts, the sanctuary (previously known as a chapel) and the radiation suites. |
