Project Description
Construction of a new 150 bed long term care facility of approximately 91,000 s.f. The building is considered an OBC classification of B2 Care and Treatment Occupancy. It is a two storey wood frame construction building, incorporating poured concrete flooring and foundation walls, lower level slab on grade, upper floor utilizing pre-engineered wood-floor trusses with plywood subflooring and exterior grade plywood underlayment, pre-engineered sloped and flat roof wood trusses, steel framing and concrete bock firewalls, elevator shafts and mechanical and electrical rooms. The facility contains two 2-stop hydraulic elevators, a laundry chute a full conventional cooking central kitchen and central laundry. The interior floor finishes include carpet; resilient sheet goods and vinyl composite tile, linoleum and anti slip vinyl floors. The building is fully sprinklered. The mechanical systems include hot water perimeter heating, roof top gas fired air handling units and domestic hot water heating system for resident and kitchen/laundry use. Electrical power systems include emergency power diesel generator and electrical low voltage systems include nurse call system and fire alarm system.
