Description

The York Region Police Investigative & Support Services Facility is a stand alone 210,000 sq.ft. 4-storey building accomodating daily operations and specialized police requirements.  Parking for 640 cars and emergency response vehicles is accommodated in a 3 level parking structure and adjacent surface lots.  Site security is achieved by a fenced compound while building access is controlled and monitored by a state-of-the-art electronic security system.  Designed to a LEED Silver standard, the building incorporates energy efficient mechanical and electrical systems including emergency generators able to ensure full continuous operation.  A three storey atrium allows for deep penetration of natural light while external solar screens shade the south and west elevations.
