Description

There were many components to the project, including the construction of a presentation theatre that accommodates a seating capacity of 600 people in its main space and a 150-seat multi-purpose rehearsal hall, making it one of the largest theatres in the surrounding region.  The stage area features an orchestral pit and a fly tower for hoisting stage scenery.  The Richmond Hill Centre project also included a civic square where people can gather and host events, a lobby area with gallery space where artists can display their works, private meeting space, concession and catering facilities, retail/merchandising space, office and storage space and a parking lot area.  275 additional parking spaces were added to accommodate the parking needs of the centre and the downtown core.

In addition to serving the many community groups and organizations in York Region and surrounding areas, as well as performers traveling through the municipality, private rentals and recreational arts culture programming are offered.
