Project Description

The project houses a 400-seat NHL-size arena, a community banquet hall, multipurpose rooms, and a seniors centre, with roughed-in space for a future fitness centre. The site plan and building services were designed to accommodate future expansion including an aquatic facility and a curling club. The selection of a pre-engineered structure accelerated the schedule and reduced costs considerably when compared to a conventional engineered structure. This initiative allowed the inclusion of a 100% heat recovery refrigeration system.

The arena is clad partially in an insulated translucent wall system, which will allow the ice surface to benefit from natural light. In addition to creating a beautiful, sunlit space, this design feature will significantly reduce operating costs.
