| Project Description |
| Construction of a two-storey, 140,000 sq.ft. sports centre. The project involved the construction of a new 4,100 seat spectator facility, the demolition of the existing Sault Ste. Marie Memorial gardens facility and site improvements. |
| The facility is a cornerstone for economic revitalization in the City's downtown, a new home for the Soo Greyhounds and gathering spot for conventions, trade shows and entertainers. With seating surpassing 4,100 (with an ice surface), the City argues that there is not a bad view in the building. Standing room allows for another 500 spectators; whole concert capacity tops 6,500 spectators. |
| The facility is wheelchair accessible and 32 spots are reserved for wheelchair access on the top level for Soo Greyhound games. |
| The stained glass and relief sculptures were carefully removed and restored from the Memorial Gardens and incorporated in the Steelback Centre. |
