| The building has been designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by incorporating sustainable and energy efficient measures into the design. These include landscape design with drought resistant vegetation; low flow toilets, faucets, showerheads and front-load clothes washers; appliances with reduced energy consumption; bicycle storage; and use of recycled materials and low-emitting paints. It is the first affordable housing project to be built in the province under the rental housing component of the Canada-Ontario AHP that is aiming to achieve LEED certification. |
